Skyview Ranch Home Owners Association is proud to fly the national flag in our own community.
The tall flag pole was installed in the public park which is now next to Prairie Sky School (CBE) by the developer of Skyview Ranch. Since then it is maintained with funds from the Skyview Ranch Home Owners Association.
Canadian Flag Protocol requires that the flag be kept in good condition, and be replaced when it shows signs of wear. The HOA provides for this need in its annual budget, replacing the flag twice a year.
Also, according to Canadian Flag Protocol, the flag does not need to be lowered at sunset and raised again at sunrise. Nor does it need to be lighted during the night.
When it is appropriate, the flag is lowered to half mast by the landscaping contractor hired by Skyview Ranch HOA. The last time this was done was March 2024 to mark the death of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.
