WHAT IS AN HOA?

HOA stands for Homeowner’s Association.

WHAT IS A CA?

CA stands for Community Association.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HOA AND THE CA?

HOW MUCH IS THE ANNUAL FEE?

The Current Fee is $80.00 + GST (Total $84.00) per year, due on June 1st each year.

DO ALL RESIDENTS OF SKYVIEW RANCH PAY THE ANNUAL HOA FEE?

Yes, the annual HOA fees are mandatory. All property owners in Skyview Ranch have an encumbrance to the Skyview Ranch HOA on their Certificate of Title.

HOW DO I PAY MY HOA FEE?

CAN I SET UP AN AUTOMATIC PAYMENT FOR MY ANNUAL FEE?

We are not able to setup automatic payments.

I WAS NEVER TOLD ABOUT THE HOA OR THE FEES WHEN I BOUGHT MY HOUSE. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

It is the responsibility of your lawyer when you purchase a home in Skyview Ranch to inform you of the HOA and the associated fee. It is also the responsibility of your lawyer to advise you of any outstanding HOA fees due on the property.

WHO SETS SPEED LIMITS AND PARKING POLICY IN THE COMMUNITY?

The City of Calgary sets all speed limits and parking policies.

WHO DO I REPORT NOISE AND PET VIOLATIONS TO?

Bylaw infractions can be reported to 311.

WHO AUTHORIZES COMMUNITY EVENTS AND WHAT NOTIFICATIONS DO OWNERS GET OR SHOULD THEY GET?

The HOA and CA are informed of community events by Calgary Parks. Complaints about community events should be submitted to Calgary Parks via 311.

CAN WE GET RESTRICTIONS ON THE SIGNAGE ON THE BLVD AS THERE IS TOO MUCH

The Temporary Sign By-Law is managed and enforced by the City of Calgary. Contact 311 if you have concerns about a specific sign.

WHO RESOLVES ISSUES BETWEEN OWNERS OVER FENCES, BYLAW ISSUES (DOG POOP, NOISE)

These concerns can be reported to 311.

WHAT CAN I REPORT TO 311?

Many common issues can be reported via 311 including:

  • Snow and ice on public roads
  • Animal complaints
  • Road and backlane maintenance request
  • Traffic, cycling and pedestrian concerns. This includes traffic lights, traffic signs and crosswalks
  • Garbage on private property, back lanes and public roads
  • Long grass and weeds on private property
  • Temporary sign complaints (such as those on 128th Ave)
  • Trees on boulevard grass adjacent to sidewalks

WHY DO I NOT GET MAIL ADDRESSED TO ME AND INSTEAD TO THE CURRENT HOMEOWNER?

An encumbrance to the HOA is placed upon the Certificate of Title to the house, therefore it’s addressed to the current homeowner of the house.

WHY AREN'T THE ANNUAL PACKAGES E-MAILED OUT TO RESIDENTS?

To ensure the homeowners are given a legal notice of dues, and AGM, a physical copy must be mailed out. With the addition of using Condo café, we are able to send information out via email, however, this list my be out of date if the current homeowner has not updated their account information
