Calgary 311 App

Do you have concerns about something you have seen in the community that needs repair, replacement, or removal? The majority of concerns that residents forward to the HOA (either via the website, an email to Astoria, or social media) are actually things that need to be brought to the attention of a City of Calgary department. Download the Calgary 311 App and have the ability to report these issues (with pictures when possible and appropriate) when you are out and about in the community; report them while the details are still fresh! You can find more information on the mobile app at https://www.calgary.ca/311/mobile-app.html .

Some issues will take more time to be resolved; weather may affect response times or prevent certain activities from occurring (as an example, seasonal bans on tree pruning and removal to reduce the spread of disease) or the resolution to an issue is a multi-step process requiring coordination between different groups. If you have concerns regarding a pressing issue that is not being dealt with in a timely fashion, Councillor Dhaliwal has repeatedly requested that residents send his team an email at ward5@calgary.ca with the ticket number and details regarding the issue so that they can follow up with the correct City department.

Here are some examples of things that can be reported via the 311 app (there are MANY more):

  • illegal dumping on city property (e.g. furniture left in the alleys, trash in the storm ponds, waste left in the industrial areas)
  • snow removal issues or streets requiring sand/gravel
  • broken/damaged trees
  • damaged/missing signage
  • playground equipment (city property) in need of repair
  • damaged irrigation system boxes (the green ones in the ground)
  • graffiti
  • water pooling in parks (may need to be pumped out) or streets (drain may need to be cleared)
  • traffic control lights (timing issues, not operational)

The 311 Mobile App is a great way to be an involved citizen and make a positive contribution to our community and the city!
