Median Strip Re-covering

When the median strip in Skyvew Ranch Boulevard was finished by the developer it became the responsibility of the Home Owners Association to keep it looking maintained and mowed. However the quality of the soil in the median would not support healthy turf and it looked unkempt for several years.

Rather than try to remove the poor soil, add new soil and re-sod the narrow strip, which would still require continual mowing and weed control, the HOA decided to convert it to river rock. The work involved removing top soil, putting barrier-cloth down and placing gravel and thousands of stones down on top.

The cost for this improvement was paid out of the Skyview Ranch budget, to which every home and condo owner contributes annually.

The resulting median strip is now neat and tidy and maintenance free. Just one example of what is accomplished by the Home Owners Association thanks to the support of all its members.
