Who Clears the Snow??

Many people love to walk around Skyview Ranch throughout the year, but walking in winter could be dangerous due to slippery ice and snow underfoot.

Skyview Ranch Homeowners Association is not responsible for snow clearing on:

  • Sidewalks in front of homes and businesses. These are required to be cleared by the homeowner under City of Calgary bylaws.
  • Sidewalks around and in front of condominiums, the responsibility of the condo board for each establishment.
  • Sidewalks along major roads and streets, cleared by the City of Calgary.

Skyview Ranch Homeowners Association has a partnership with the City of Calgary which grants our HOA funds for minimum clearing of foot paths in parks and green spaces.

However, for the greater enjoyment and safety of residents, our association contracts to have these paths cleared more regularly and to a higher standard than required by the city.

Each year the Home Owners Association budgets thousands of dollars for this task.

Over 2 kilometres of paved footpaths are cleared by hand, power sweepers and snow plows as soon as possible after snow stops falling.

In this way Skyview Ranch Home Owners Association, through its contractors, works to make our community enjoyable and safe.
